It has begun! Welcome back to all those that are moist.

As is customary the wrap will cover big scores, low scores and some suggestions on player trades or delistings. It will try to be supportive, informative and insightful for subscribers...try.

We will have some special editions of the wrap this year after signing a couple of guest writers. (they dont know it yet - but stay tuned).

We're trialling a slightly different format. Thoughts, comments and concerns can be directed to the editor.

I wanted to give people an idea of what good looks like. so will feature a top performer or two from the previous few rounds and give some stats about what's making their team so good. So naturally the first two featured teams are:

1st Place - De-Merret Points.

Two highest scores in the first two weeks sees the real returningchampion (sorry kate) back at the tip of the moist spear. Last week it was Jake Lloyd (131), Crouch 138 & Boak 119 that carried De-merret over TeamName* coached by Simon. This week Jake Lloyd (124) Rich (127), Boak (123), Gunner (110), Dahl (105) set the foundations to overcome a underwhelming Bitter Frost unit. De-Merrets weakness is pretty clear with my team having only the 13th best midfielder - MCrouch, The 12th best ruckman. However it does boast (humbly) 3 of the top 7 forwards and 3 of the top 4 defenders --- Zorko, Hibberd, Prestia all on notice.

2nd Place - Decs Fly Together

After beating Sloppy's seconds in round 1. Dec added to Simons woes by crushing him 1369 to 1285 in round 2. His score is also trending in the right scoring direction after growing from mid 1200s last week. Dec only has 1 defender inside the top 30 (but its at no.2) Lachie Whitfield 114ave. He has his no.1 mid at pos.12 Treloar (118) and then not again till pos.37 Mitch Duncan (ave 101). I excluded PICK 2. from the midfield list as he is the NO1 FWD IN THE GAME (JayneY) - P.Danger (125 ave). Dec also has the no1 ruckman Lycett ave.118 --- Curnow (68.5), Lynch (64), McGrath (72.5), Walters (79.5) on notice.

We'll also feature a game or two from those that actually want a wrap. The rest of you can write your own....

Round 1:

Decs Fly Together (1233) defeats Sloppy's Seconds (1153)

Team name* (1256) defeated by De-Merret Points (1338)

Half Shafts (1276) defeats SomethingAmusing (1211)

Frosty Bits (1338) defeats WeatherBunnies (1130)

Returningchampion (1269) defeats Other Tom Lynch (1239)

Round 2:

Half Shafts (1284) defeats Sloppy's Seconds (1228)

Frosty Bits (1242) defeated by De-Merret Points (1382)

Returningchampion (1326) defeats SomethingAmusing (1234)

Other Tom Lynch (1183) defeats WeatherBunnies (1165)

Roy decided to rest Cunnington - some say that he shouldnt have been playing, some say that he will never play again but what we can agree on is that 159 is a HUGGGGGE score (to have on the bench). Reminisent of T.Mitchell on that fine winters day some years ago - From someone who this has happened to Stephen, I offer you this comfort. The shame I endured (for many weeks) has made my team into the juggernaut it is today, we can only hope that it does the same to you. Moving on....C.Oliver 141 returned to form even though the dees were pantsed, McEvoy 104 and Robbie Gray 106 the only other real scores. I wasn't entirely sure how Roy won....but then I saw he played JayneY, who is fast becomming the BYE after back to back lowest scores of the round. Bont 97 couldnt back up his monster from rnd.1, Grundy 137 tried this week and was back on the good list, Steeley Jack 100 gooooood, Parrrrrker 109 but then the list falls away. Jeremy Cameron 68 was the 2nd best Cameron in JayneYs team but the good one was on the bench - Charlie 87, Dunstan 61, Taylor 33, Geary 75, Mundy 35, FloppyArm Riewoldt 33 and Louise Savage 94 on the pine. It also looks like Swallow 140 was on the bench? is this true!!! (tanking!). Ps. Stephen, you had the 2nd lowest score of the round. But still won! Well played.

Decs Fly Together (1369) defeats Team name (1285)*

Danger 154 dominated the dees - Dec you really are so lucky to have picked him up at pick 2, what a steal. BBQs Treloar 135, Lycett 167 (no1 ruck as previously mentioned), Whitfield 123, Duncan 103, Other Crouch 104 all on the pointy points list. Walters 50 and Curnow 39 the only real issues. As is a non playing Houli 0 and Ward 0. McCarthy 84 an astute pick up. Mr Simon went bang - ex hawthorn great Josh Kennedy 136, Cripps 116, Hawk(ins) 112, Sloane 105 and mr mark of the year Howe 99 very solid. Worpedo 92 who im sure Simon only picked because of his name and jumper color given that im not sure Simon would know what he looked like if he walked passed him in the street. Sinclair 56 and Goldstein 66 were ruckless, Tuohy 0 would be shattered he didnt also cash in against the dees. Redden 77, Sicily 81 (who lost about 15 points for giving away a free-kick-hawthorn-game-winner). Not horrible scoring - just too many 80s and not enough big tonnes.

Till next week.
